2.2 / 2.3 Big Diff?
2.2 / 2.3 Big Diff?
Hey all, just wondering....
Except for the 5 hp gain and prolly minour improvements... is there a big difference between a 2.2 and 2.3?
What made Honda (Acura) switch?

No.
they switched because their total engine production line for Accord (and CL platforms) was moving to the newer 2.3 engine during the 98 year. The 2.2 was used previously in all the accords and such so they basically used what was being produced on theri assembly lines.
Simple business decison.

the ulev f23s make barely any more hp then a f22. thats another reason they needed a slightly more powerful f series engine, they knew that when makin the car ulev it will suck up some hp and tq, so now the car will still have at least 145hp like the original.
thats what i was told. but i think the 98 models werent ulev
