1st Gen Rules, please read

https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?p=10719716

I have put up a standard set of rules that I'd like everyone on here to follow. In light of reccent events with a few members, I really want everyone to understand what we as mods and members expect of each other. Please try to follow these guys, I'm sick of the bickering and constant thread hijacking and it needs to stop. Going forward, I'd like to have a more cohesive understanding from all of our members.

Pretty straight forward and simple rules that nobody should have a problem abiding by. Been seeing too many people bickering and fighting lately. My suggestion to those people who cannot produce a constructive or relevant response (everyone is guilty of it at some point), make the post mentally and think it through before you even bother typing it or submitting it. It only takes an ounce of common sense to realize you are about to post something worthless and completely derail a thread... so put a stop to it before it happens.

Just my 2 cents on the matter.

Completely agree vine, too much bickering, not enough useful posting. I can't tell you how many times over the years I've hit cancel instead of posting, because I realized it was off topic or stupid. Just want to end the bickering and keep things under control

Thank you, I come on here everyday and I dont post too much. I like to read the different projects and help with DIYs and FAQs. But the discussions have been not appealing for a daily read.

nothing terribly new or radical in there. Azine is very liberal when it comes to posting. At least the 1G CL section. that "Hay guys" thread that a few people whored out along with their post count wouldn't last a day in any other forum. Even in the offtopic section. Klepto did us a favour yet a few guys abused it.

yeah you damn near spelled out the problem. when i was a noob i thought a high post count meant something cool. im seeing all these people that havent been here half the time as me yet have thousands more posts. the big problem here has something in common with popularity contests in high school. everyone whores it up to rack that post count up. everyone is always trying to show authority over everyone else. everyone is always trying to point the noob finger. and its funny cause the only people who call someone a "noob" are noobs and mods. Fact.
"you havent been here long enough" - ive heard this way to many times. its a forum not a frat.

No one should be surprised by the rules, however I feel it at least gives us something to follow, and allows something to point to when people do get out of line. That hay guys thread should never have turned into what it was I agree, but it goes to show what happens when we let things get too loose. But hopefully people understand where I'm coming from and we can be more productive here.

I would love to see what happens to peoples' post counts if I deleted that hay guys thread

postwhoring new people with no mods and no technical insight are ruining this section of AZ. they should just watch and learn to be honest. i hope some of them read this and sit back with a guilty conscience.

that is part of the problem, and the newer and younger members try very hard to fit in. They also do the most to whore out the threads and throw them off topic, and this has been the case for years, with many different members. The bottom line is, we're here to help each other and that's what I try to do above all. And no one should be calling anyone n00bs except the mods, remember "I call you a n00b cuz I care"

that depends on what you consider mods. almost all of them have some stuff done. that would be too subjective.

technical insight is completely different, and you're right. They'll just have to learn.

agreed. I have been looking at a few post that seem to be attacking each other. lets just learn what we did in elementary school. "if you dont have anything nice to say, dont say it at all"

good rules Chris, it's good to have outlines for what is and isn't good as far as posts in this section.(especially for us n00bs)

^as far as that thread, i agree with why it was locked and it might be a good idea to delete it.
But i would like to add that i think it might be a good idea to have a substitute to that thread.
Not an all out "what's going on", but a more structured thread.
Such as the posts should be somewhat related to your cl etc..(and obviously no postwhoring, as that should be left to ramblings)
I just say this, cuz i know i liked to have a place to post the current situation with my car, problems/good things/updates etc... without me having to create a new thread clutter up the main page with it.
And i know that a few ppl liked to ask questions or opinions from other members etc.. without having to start a new thread or hijack a thread that is somewhat related.
But that's just my , i'm not telling you to do anything, just giving my opinion on the situation.

again, i think these rules are a step in the right direction, to make this a better place for everyone... Good job Chris

reading the NWS rules, I'm wondering why you asked me to change my avatar in the past. It was simply a woman in a bikini.. no sexual pose or partial nudity.. just a good looking woman in her beach wear

I'm glad there are some new rules setup, this was a relatively flame-free place until about 3 weeks to a month ago when serious post whoring and flaming began.

solution:
https://acurazine.com/forums/1g-cl-photograph-gallery-57/lets-see-where-youre-post-your-ride-494709/

all this fighting and hostileness has only been around maybe a month or two. i cant remember it being like that before, say, 2009.

in response to mitch's idea about starting new threads that end in three post's i think the majority of us have a build thread of some sort. if we have questions why not just continue to post them in our own threads? makes it easier to find member responses and keeps everyone in the know

Yes, and the thread jacking is ending now. There will be no substitution for the post whore thread, take that shit to ramblings, I never wanted here in the first place, and a dozen people just backed me in agreeig with the issues that have been going on. Take it to ramblings, end of story

^ Oh damn, good luck with that Chris.. if you thought we were bad... Haha. Props to all the mods who clean up this site and make sure it doesn't turn into chaos. I don't see how you guys do it. I modded a videogame proboards forum but there was only about a few hundred members and probably less than a hundred all at one time with alot of mods. Acurazine has over a hundred thousand members and thousands on at a time. Ridiculous.

Slowly, not a lot of members, but the members we have are pretty good. Superchargers and turbo setups, no ricers thus far
