about to install a system in a 97 3.0 CL, now all the pictures i have seen of CL dashes use a pop out single DIN screen, but looks like it uses a mounting kit.

my question is, is the radio din a "2din" or one of those whacky 1.5dins? the unit im looking to install is a Avic z2, which is a standard double din.

 

you can fit a double din just fine. I have an eclipse 5435 in there myself

 

thanks alot! yeah im picking the CL up this weekend, for a daily driver, need to have the navigation though. on a side note, i read about some wings west lip, its not my style is there anything else?

 

yeah a double DIN will work just fine, I think the stock bracket will bolt it right up................. and to answer your question stock is a regular old single DIN, with a DIN sized storage box bolted to it as an add-on of sorts

sorry buddy, there isnt much out there in the field of lips/ bodykit... theres 2 craptastic kits that are made so far, blackwidow 2 and spyder 2... they're fugly... or u could throw something 2gether, like the rear lip from the accord wagon(slightly modified)....

 

You can def fit a double din, that's what the size is without the pocket. And there is another lip but it's pretty flimsy and snaps off easy but it'll work
