120+ mph

Alright, i was on the freeway tonight and a rsx and an 94 accord blew by me, So i thought i would try and catch them..Not that hard. I down shiften into 4th and caught them pretty quick. I was up to 125 and the car seemed to be real loose. Is that normal with the cl's? I have done that in my old accord and it didnt feel loose like that. Anyone got any ideas. im on stock suspension and stock rubber. Please let me know. Thanks.

the steering just feels loose. almost like my front end is floating. I dont know how else to explain it. just not in control. If you need more explanation. i wcan try and think of something. The car is a 98 and only has 37k miles on it. So i can think of it being something huge.

I've hit 130 before and it was nice and tight! Oh and I'm also on stock suspension and rubbers. Only difference is that I have the 3.0. Dont know if that has anything to do with it though.

yeah cuz a 2.2 or 2.3 stock hitting 130 is a challange unless u got 10 mile stretch of open road, maybe some hills, and some cold weather would help

Most cars going ~130mph is going to feel fairly loose compared to normal highway speeds. Small adjustments at the steering wheel translate to more movement on the road surface when you're going that fast.

I remember I was doing 140 pinning the damn thing and my friend was like "keep going"...He didn't even realize how fast we were going till I told him it was pinned. Car was stable as hell. But then again, I have suspension mods.

Damn you have low miles 37k for a 98! I have only taken it to 110 with my 2.3 feels pretty smooth and responsive, I know what you mean by the floating feel...

I've gotten to 124 in my car (3.0). I prob won't try any higher till I get some diff tires. My Pilots are only good for 130mph. I'm pretty happy with the tires tho, I might consider another set. I don't really have any need to go that fast really, just kinda gets ya worked up tho.

You probably have tires that are not rated for that speed.

mine ('03 cls) w/stock suspension felt great at 110+. no drifting, etc. haven't taken it above that. U prob could use lowering/suspension upgrades.

loose steering

My car has the same problem but at lower speeds. There have been posts a year ago or so on this problem but it seems a mystery. When my car was new it was tight, but did seem to float sometimes, like all feeling in the wheel dissapeared. Now when I hit uneven roads the car pulls hard turning the wheel in my hand as well.

with my stock 2.2 at 110+ it feels realy good, but one year I ran perelli tires and I didn't feel safe above 80. Now I only run yokos. Just some food for thought.

I dont know.. they just didn't feel as solid. They would kinda float around at 80+ while the yokos I feel more connected with the road at that speed.

Might have been just a bad set though. When I complained to dicount tire they said they were had been having allot of problems with them at that time. Got a huge discount on the yokos because of it.l

you think the rear spoiler gives it more control at high speeds?
