Buy new shocks if the ones you have now are worn out. The drop won't instantly kill your shocks but it's always good to get all of your suspension work done in one go if you're paying someone to install it.

The stock shocks will work with the lowering springs but you should definately check out the price if you're buying new ones. It might be worth it to pick up some KYB AGX or something similar if the stockies cost alot

I don't regret for a minute getting Illuminas, they are worth the extra money to me, especialy for something the car will never need again
I think I passed on the GR-2 thinking they'd be too conservative with the drop

Might as well replace the shocks, that way you don't need to mess with putting the springs on the old shocks and can leave it as a whole assembly. Plus if you get some adjustable shocks you could improve the ride
