*HELP* My right brake light doesn't light up. Already replaced the bulb..what gives?

Hey guys/gals:
I have a problem with my right side brake light. It went out about 10 days ago (Brake light indicator lit up on dashboard gauges).
I confirmed it with a friend standing behind my car and me braking. So I go to Autozone and I pick up a pair of bulb replacement...forget the #....xx47 or something like that.
Anyway...I replace the buld and voila...it works for about 1min...then...stopped working, brake light on dash lights up again.
So I thought that it had burned out already. So I replace that bulb with the 2nd buld from the package and this one doesn't light up either. And they are not burned, both filaments in each bulb are intact. So what gives?
Is this a fuse problem, wiring problem?

I need to get this resolved before the NYC Cops see my a$$ being one sided and give me a big fat summons.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

the socket could be corroded, did the bulb have any crap on it when you pulled it out?

it wasnt corroded.
is there a fuse for this? but wouldnt it be the same fuse for both brake lights? meaning both brake lights would go out at the same time?

Check to see if the socket/connectors are corroded.

I will check for corrosion tomorrow, but I think I checked for that and it seemed clean to me.

Thanks,

On my wife's '93 Accord, the socket appeared fine, but the sensor (which is connected to the taillight wiring harness) had corroded. This led to intermittent lighting (or not lighting up at all).

Check out the diagram on www.acuraautomotiveparts.org (under "taillight") for the sensor location.
