*Any interest on carbo lined stainless steel brake lines for first gen?*

Okay a couple of the first gen guys (Clpower and tw112) have expressed interest in having some carbo lines stainless steel brake lines prototyped for the first gen CL. First of all stainless steel brake lines improve brake feel, the brake pedal becomes firmer and less mushy. Brake feel is noticeably improved. The carbo lining is basically a sleeve that gives the lines a carbon fiber look and aids in keeping dirt and grime from getting on the lines, it also is much easier to clean then plain stainless steel.

I would like to get a rough count of how many guys would be interested in this mod. Right now the lines are selling for $100.00 for the type-s. If there is enough interest (>20 orders) then I can get the same deal for the first gens. If it is less than 20, then the price would be $110.00. These prices are shipped to your door.

The lines are made by a big name in the brake line industry, Goodridge, they make a big majority of the s/s brake lines for many aftermarket companies. The lines meet and/or exceed D.O.T specifications and are protected via a lifetime tranferable warranty.

If anyone would be interested in this mod please post in this thread.

Thanks guys

Also, just so everyone knows, blxmjx has arranged several group buys and definately follows through with these deals. I know many of you may not recognize his username b/c he hangs in Car Talk mostly, but he gets good deals and ships quick, so don't let the fact you haven't seen him in the First Gen forum shy you away!!

Yes the price is for the carbo-lined stainless steel brake lines. $100.00 shipped is a pretty decent price on these lines. Goodridge hasn't produced the first gen cl lines with the carbo covering as of yet. The groupbuyers would be the first to have these lines with this particular covering. If you've ever had a set of plain stainless steel brakelines you know that dirt and grime gets imbedded in the lines and is almost impossible to fully remove, the carbo covering enables the user to easily clean the grime off, plus it looks really nice.

Also prices for the regular SS lines are a little bit higher than 100...usually around 110+. So even if we don't get 20 buyers, I am still in because I know for sure that blxmjx follows through!

Here are a couple of pics of the type-s kit. Yes I am currently set up on paypal. The type-s guys have been utilizing paypal to pay for the lines and a couple have sent money orders or cashiers checks. I have also sent some of the lines c.o.d, which is the least preferable because there is a c.o.d surcharge. Right now I'm basically gauging interest in the lines. If there is adequate interest then I will place an order for the lines. Once I have the lines in hand then I will begin to ask for payment. I don't ask for payment ahead of time because sometimes the shipments will take a couple of weeks to a month. I don't feel comfortable holding everyone's money for that type of duration. I would prefer to have the lines in hand so that I can send the product out promptly.

so these basically replace the little rubbers on there now huh? How hard is that to do? Do you have to drain the fluid? Sorry never done this before.

Yeah I am pretty sure that you have to bleed the brakes...

They take place of all the brake lines and make the brake feel more responsive, so I hear

I know I am down and I know you can count on CLpower...although I am not sure where he is at? Ramblings...
