I thought it latched into the stock hood latch? if not that's retared. If they can drill the holes for the wiper nozzles you think they can do it for the damn latch...

How many cases are there actually of cf hoods flying up on the freeway? All the people I know with cf hoods never flew up they are all VIS hoods. Better get some real facts before you go ahead and drill into your brand new hood and have to deal with ugly hoodpins forever.

how about this. DONT buy hoodpins and instead buy a roll of tape. If your hood EVER becomes loose or pops up on the freeway quickly pull over, tape it down and proceed to the nearest shop. then id say you'd have an excuse to buy hoodpins.

to those of you who keep "hearing these stories" are these from reliable sources or are they just ricer myths? I've "heard stories" that putting in this racing chip gives me mad ty0te vTEc yO. And who says that their hoods were as high quality as ours? We keep praising the grade A quality these hoods are, maybe those guys had some shitty ones that didnt fit 100% and had shitty latches

As long as it doesn't flutter at freeway speed, I think you're fine. Some cheap carbon fiber hoods will flutter on the sides if you go too fast. Some have latches that will fall off. And it doesn't just unlatch once like when you pop the hood and you still have to unlatch it, it just falls off. Some don't have latches at all and require hood pins. I have no ides how yours is made, but if it's quality and the latch is pretty secure, then you might be fine. Who knows though.

So, two things...

I thought the advertisement in the beginning of this thing was that the CF hood would meet OEM spec, ie: NO HOOD PINS.

If it flies off at highway speed, the company that made the fucker is liable for providing a defective product.

Unless... Maybe they say in small print that VIS will not assume any liability for those who do not install hood pins. I think the whole CF hood thing is kinda :ghey: because of the CLUSTER FUCK way it has been handled, and now I am reassured that it was a bad investment all around. Besides, don't you guys think it will look a little .

I am sorry guys... I hate reading about all the troubles you all have had with these hoods. Good luck, and I hope it turns out to have been worth it in the end.

I hope that big giant disk isn't visible from the outside. That's like having 2 mini CD's on your hood.

put one on, I have seen a hood fly up on the freeway next to me before. Funniest thing ever when you see it, but you put everybody in danger if it does even yourself.

ok i dont get you guys... why do you say hood pins are ricer? whats ricer about them?

most of the time, hood pins are necessary if you got a CF hood so if you dont want rice, then dont get a hood... sometimes you guys just pull shit out of your ass. go ahead and not get hood pins, just dont come on the forums and start bitching about your hood flying off and hitting the car behind you

i will be installng hood pins, sorry to the people who think they're ugly. i guess i'll be "ruining" one of the CF hoods by installing them for some, but i think function > form (sometimes)
