I have a 2002 MDX with 190,000 kilometres on it. Two months ago the transmission failed and it was replaced.

This week, it died on the side of the road because the alternator failed. The Honda dealership also said the diagnostics showed that both O2 sensors, the clutch press solenoid and the electrical load detector need replacing.

The transmission was operating in 'Safe" mode and the Honda dealer said to take it back to the Acura dealer to get the transmission fixed. While taking it to the Acura dealership, the new alternator failed and now the Honda dealership says that the alternator failed because the main computer has failed.

Is the failure of the computer, alternator etc. related to the failure of the transmission or is it just bad luck?

Wow both 02 sensors ? Have you tried resetting the computer ?

On the 02s if you disconnect the battery cable for about 10 seconds, it clears the memory. As an Acura tech, I have NEVER EVER seen a MDX need a alternator.

Yes I have seen thousands of transmissions. ELD is also part of the computer not just the alternator.

FIND a new dealer/mechanic.

Not sure if everything is related to your transmission. Just sounds like bad luck.
