Bought a used 05 MDX.........the handsfreelink is locked don't know the password........the first thing the system says is the sys is locked what is the four no. passcode.
unable to contact previous owner
took it to the Acura dealer they couldn't clear the code.
told them about service Bul May 2007.which only applies to TL,RL,TSX
The only way they the could clear the code was take my unit out of the MDX and put it into a TL,then they could clear the code ,now good to go.plus one hour labour charge.

You just bought it? From an Acura dealer? And they charged you to fix it?? If the answer to all these questions is yes, then find a new dealer. They should have fixed it for free, with a smile on their face. Especially if it was "certified". If you bought it from a non-acura dealer or privately, then I can understand the charge.

no I bought at an auction..........but the dealer first called me up and they had a lease back and they were going to swap handsfreelink with another Mdx,only for a labour charge til we figured the other fix.

Ah ok. Strange that there is a way to clear the same exact unit on a different car but not on the MDX...

Yea the mechanic said the the Mdx is missing something that the TL has

For some reason they can't do it in the MDX

There is a service bulletin out for the TL,TSX and The RL but not for the MDX

My system is working fine now
