BMW: 4-Series News
What the Spies can add to the speculation, after digging a little deeper, is that the front end shot is a virtually IDENTICAL representation, of the front end of the 2005-06 3-series.
If the rumors are true, we think this is the FIRST Banglified/Hooydunkified (Hooydunk is the designer of the 5 and the 7 and is President of BMW Designworks USA) front end that actually hits the mark. We also like the gentle sloping curve along the bottom of the door line.
Notice a little MB CLK admiration in the side shots? We do.
What we’re still trying to come to grips with, is the $64 Billion dollar question looming at BMW these days…Doesn’t anyone there know how to design the back end of a vehicle anymore?
If this is the final rear end the Spies ask “Will it be called the 4-series RSX” ?

I'd be quite interested in that if it wasn't repeatedly hit with an ugly stick. For a coupe it just doesn't look sporty (I have the same complaint about the Z4). I like my sporty cars to be sleek like it's just cutting through the air...but this is blunt with counter productive contours and lines...
But if Acura doesn't put out a deccent 30-40K coupe soon, I might be looking at a 4 series anyway.

Just to add, we are expecting this car to come with a 3.5 liter 6 cylinder (not sure if it's inline or V configuration yet) and 275 HP. The above engine will replace the 3 liter currently.

I can't believe they're bringing the rear-end styling from the 7 over to the 5 and 4 series.

I dont know.... I cant say I dislike the above design (if that's what we are getting). Good thing it wont be larger than the current car though. Rumors were calling for it last year.

I don't really like the general direction BMW has been taking with their styling lately, but I don't think that one looks too bad. At least in those pics.
That M5 pic doesn't look all that bad from that angle either.
Maybe these ugly Bimmers are growing on me

That "4-series" coupe looks an awful lot like an IS300 coupe pic I saw floating around teh Int4rW3b a while back.
We'll have to see it in person. When the first pics of the 1-series came out (the production version) it looked like 10lbs of ass.
I think it looks much better now ... who knows how far along these pics are ... I read in this month's (July) Automobile mag that BMW isn't even going to call the 3-coupe the 4-series ... who knows WTF is going on there.

i haven't seen anything impressive out of bmw since they started this attention whore styling campaign, their interiors have gone to the shitty and this 4series is nothing but an overstyled clk
