West Coast Meet 2003 - Everyone from San Diego to Vancouver B.C. please read !!

O.K. it's time to start planning West Coast Meet 2. As those of you who came to last years meet know, it was a blast, with the first view of the Comptech Supercharged 6MT and a run to Crater Lake at very illegal speeds that no one will ever forget, especially TypeSDragoon We have time to kick this around, but the sooner we all agree on place and date the better. I recommend that we stick with Medford Oregon. It's a beautiful area, a great drive to reach it and they've got Friday night drags and this year we're gonna do the famous Rogue river jet boats. We had a chance to reserve our own boat last year and i suggest we try the same thing this time. If we can fit it in, we can do a drive over to the Oregon Coast on Sunday, or do that on Saturday if we don't do the jet boats for some reason. The date we're going with is Friday September 12th. All of the attendees last year, over 20 if i recall were from San Fran, Sacto, Seattle and Portland. No one from So.Cal or B.C. It would be awesome if we could get participation from those areas this year and really grow this thing. Also, any other CLs, TLs, previous members with new cars i.e. the Z contingent or any other members from the West who want to join us, feel free and come hang with us. For now, i'd ask Aztecrol and TypeSDragoon to help in the Bay Area, Mattg to work the Northwest including B.C., i'll handle Sactown and maybe our old pal VPerkins2 can help us in San Diego and L.A. If we can agree quickly on the date in particular then everyone should be able to plan accordingly and get this weekend cleared. We should all plan to be there by late afternoon on Friday so we can hit the drags So let's roll with the plan and have a great turnout !!

Yours Truly, RR

June 1st Update : We are set on Medford, Oregon

I'm definitely in again, albeit a little slower this year. Medford sounds great to me, although if everyone wants to come a little further north, I won't argue. Do you guys mind if I put the word out to the Legend board as well? The more the merrier ya know....

Memories....

Yeah, we'll have to be careful with the Oregon Highway Patrol, they'll probably be lookin for us Let's see if we can get some So.Cal people involved, if so Medford is a haul for them. If not, i'm open to moving it a bit further up to help the Seattle and Vancouver peeps but Medford works pretty well. Go for it with the Legend board, turnout baby !!

By the way, if we can get a large turnout, i'll see if Comptech wants to join us for a day and show us anything new, or maybe they can sponsor the Meet and provide T-Shirts and prizes.

people should try to make it there in time for friday night drags.

imagine how shocked the locals will be when we roll in with 20 cl's, ranging from stock to supercharged, with a little nitrous thrown in for good measure

maybe we'll show them a little all motor action too.

i would love to go on a west coast meet this time, im down totally and ill bring the gf so she doesnt feel left out and we can take a long needed vacation and i was planning on poping the q to her and this would be a cool place to do it, that picture of crater lake looks damn nice

as far as the drags, lets go for the weekend of the 12th or even the weedend of the 5th would be cool.

west coast meet in medford would be damn fun and i think i could get a cl member from fresno that has the type s cam swap to come too, his name on the board is monkey.

but ill check back on here for more details later, but whens the next sac town meet? the 31st or the 7th? i might drive with monkey to the meet so he can meet the sac town whole bunch

keep us posted

I knew you'd be in !! Well, what does everyone think about the 12th ? I'd rather go the week before because last year the Jet Boats were ending by the end of September due to lower water.

Glad you're gonna make it !! Looking at September 12th or 19th. If we want to hit the Friday night drags in Medford, it looks like the 12th.

12th sounds great...that should avoid most of the summer crowds and events.

I'm game to do the drags too, that should be a blast. Now I just have to save up for a nitrous kit to not be badly embarrassed.

If anyone is on the fence about this just think of it as an opportunity to visit Crater Lake with some buddies. The lake itself is worth the trip!
