Injen Intake
#2
That's awesome news. I always thought injen made great products so I may consider selling my Taekda to get this one. Is the prototype a short ram or cold air? I kind of like how my takeda can change over to both.

I actually have no idea. I was so happy at the thought of getting a free intake i forgot to ask lol. But they promised me my car back on friday, and they said they would have dyno sheets ready also.

I got my car back from Injen today.
The prototype fitting went good, and my car made an additional 13whp. They are going to email me detail pictures + dyno sheets sometime next week.
It will go in production within a month from now (I was told that it could be as soon as 3 weeks).
It is a "link" intake that you can switch between short ram and cold air.
The CAI sits right behind the driver side foglight, and right above the undertray (plastic thing underneath the front bumper).
Here is a picture i took with my phone:

Pros: you make additional power from intakes because it isn't as restrictive as the stock.
Con: you are going to like the sound it makes when you go wide open throttle, so MPG will go down lol.
And no you will not be able to use the stock filter.

At the 2000 SEMA show, Injen was still a little rough, but had promise. IMHO, any quality product that can save me from putting $1 in AEM's account is good news.
I'm still going to wait for the icebox, but any development of new products is good for all of us.

finally Injen is coming out with one. Had an Injen CAI for my old TSX, sister drives it and 40K miles after, it still runs great. Had a CAI set up, but later on switched it to SRI because of Florida's many showers

those are some pretty results for a CAI. I remember with the 1st gen tsx that there were very minimal gains. If I remember correctly only about +5hp. I wonder if it is because of how the 2nd gen is tuned. thanks for posting the pic!

i guess we'll just have to wait until i get the intake and do an independent dyno elsewhere.
