wiper arms

is there a way to adjust the wiper blade arms so they are directly over the defrost vent on the windshield?

I just know that you pull them up for the winter so they don't get frozen, the push them back down in the spring.

You could also get winter wipers. This is what I had when I lived up in NH.

They actually work quite well.

How did you get the winter blades on your RL? It doesn't have "standard" blade mounts.

Good question... I didn't realize the RL has special blade mounts. There has to be at least one company out there that makes winter wipers which fit the RL.

Are you saying that every member on this board can only get new wipers from a dealer? Buying wipers from dealer = epic fail

As far as I know, the blades have to be purchased from Acura but many refills will fit the blades already on the car (I've been using PIAA Super Silicone refills) but I'm not aware of any winter blades. I don't belive you can get winter refills as the rubber completely surrounds the blade.

Winter blades are good, but they streak and chatter on the highway due to the wind. I don't know whether the RL can or cannot take winter blades, I've never replaced the wipers yet.

How do you get the inserts out of the Acura arms? Is this a stupid question? I sure felt stupid when I tried this.

Can someone post pictures of what the RL wiper bracket looks like? I'm curious what they actually look like.

They slide out like any other. I took my blades off the arms (2 screws each) just to make it a bit easier.

Um.....it's in the manual.

1.Adjust the windshield wiper arms to the winter position by holding both wiper arms as shown in the illustration at the same time (see page 135). Raise the wiper arms off the windshield.

2. Push the edge of the cover on the blade assembly until the other side of edge is pivoted out, and remove the cover.

3. Disconnect the blade assembly from the wiper arm by removing
the two screws from the arm.

4. Remove the blade f rom its holder by grasping the tabbed end of the blade. Pull firmly until the tabs come out of the holder.

5. Examine the new wiper blades. If they have no plastic or metal reinforcement along the back edge, remove the metal reinforcement strips from the old wiper blade, and install them in the slots along the edge of the new blade.

6. Slide the new wiper blade into the holder until the tabs lock.

7. Reinstall the blade assembly to the wiper arm and tighten the two screws securely. Reinstall the cover by pushing in.

8. Set the wiper arms back on the windshield. Adjust the windshield wipers to their previously parked position.

I tried ANCO Contour for WInter - No Luck

It is frustrating when you go to Auto Zone and Anco Countour blades have a listing for my 05 RL. The blades look sweet and would be great for this crappy, icy MPLS winter.

No way I could get the blade to mount. Who has the aftermarket company that sells blades that mount to the two screw mechanism?

Any help is appreciated.
