Does anyone know what percent the factory window tint is? I asked my dealer and he was unable to tell me. The service dept was closed when I was in there. I am looking to comply w/ Illinois law for front windows and they require 35% or less all the way around if you tint the front at all. Thanks in advance!

 

Some say 20 and some say 30. You're going to have a tough time matching it to the rear. I've got 35% on the front and it's lighter than the rear. Some people have done it but they had to add additional layers of tint on the front and rear.

 

You could tint the front windows with 35% and not do the rears. It would be ridiculous for them to penalize you when the rear windows come from the factory darker than 35%.

 

30% should get you pretty close to the rears. I have 35% and unless it's a sunny day the tint pretty closely matches the rears.
