Wheel/Jack Question

I've got 2 quick questions. I have new 18" wheels arriving tomorrow. They supplier (discounttiredirect.com) said they are going to include lugs and hub rings for the MDX.
questions:
1. how much do I torque the new wheels? I was guessing 80 lbs...
2. I was going to purchase a floor jack. I've always wanted one since I don't like working with the OEM jacks and my BMW never came with a jack. I saw 2.5 ton jack in Costco for $65 in a case. Would 2.5 ton be enough for my MDX? The Michelin 3.5 ton jack is $130 - big jump for 1 more ton support. Please advise.

Thanks in advance!

1. Check this link: http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/tech/...jsp?techid=107

2. 2.5 ton should be enough just make sure you use jackstands.

What year MDX do you have?

man, that's great! thanks for the quick response.
I've got a 2005 MDX. I'll update my profile.

So, you think a 2.5 ton is good? Can I ask what you would use? thanks agian!

I would probably just use the OEM jack. Welcome to the community.

Definitely. believe it or not, it's snowing outside so it was good that I kept the snows on so long. I changed my BMW's tires to summers last month and couldn't get out today!

I should have the wheels mounted by Thursday (1st sign of sun this week) and I'll post pic's. Thanks!

3.5 tons is the safety way to do it if you always working with cars & suv but 2.5 tons jack is good enough to raise your mdx.

Congrats on your ride. I drive a -02 TLS and my wife a -04 Mdx touring. I get to drive the MDX once in a while and i really like it. What wheels did you go with?. I have a 2.5 ton floorjack and i had no problems with it. I would not use the OEM jack. In my opinion it's very unstable. Welcome to the forum. F1swede
