Howdy- I am new here but already have read a dozen or more helpful threads and wanted to say thank you for the community- this place is great!

Last week I picked up a 2011 MDX Advance from a dealer. It's a beaut of a vehicle, and so far I, quite happy with it. But no owners manual came with the car... in fact... no *nothing* came with the car. I would guess there'd be a nav manual, too, and maybe a service manual/log... maybe even nav software or something. All I found was the window sticker.

I'd like to reach out to the dealer and request the missing items, but I have no idea what's missing Could someone shed a little light on this for me? Is it possible to obtain digital copies of the missing materials? (I did find the owner's manual as a PDF.. whew!)

While poking around this morning, I discovered that I should have gotten some information regarding a radio security code, too. I hope my battery doesn't die before I gather that info.

 

the owner's manual, navi book, quick start guide, maintenance log book, security codes should all be in a nice pleather case for safe keeping. you should have also received two sets of keys and a valet key.

it sounds like you bought pre-owned. check the list on the CPO inspection (if it's CPO'd). there should be a list of things that are suppose to come with the car (ie the owner's manual etc). the dealer should have the navi and radio codes, ask them to print them out for you (service dept).

did your car come with wheel locks by chance? if so you should have 4 extra lugs and the lug key for the wheel locks as well (this is std it seems at my dealer).

 

Thank you for the information. I contacted the dealer and they are sending me the materials I was missing. They said I need to take the vehicle to a service department to obtain the radio codes, so that's a bit of a pain, but I imagine I'll be taking the vehicle in for service before the battery dies.... and now I jinxed myself

 

you better hope the dealer has the codes. the dealer usually only has the two codes (4 digit for navi, 5 for the radio) IF the car was originally purchased there. the other way to get your codes...have the dealer contact acura. you could call but there is no proof that you own the car if you give them the VIN if you know what i mean.

I loaded the document into iBooks on my iPad and read up on a few things. The table of contents has bookmarks that jump you to the pages
