Question What is this green socket/connector to the left of steering column?

2005 MDX Touring. While I was installing Cruise Control Main, VSA OFF, and Fog Light switches on the dashboard lower cover to the left of steering column, I noticed this green socket missing a connector plugged into it. I looked around and didn't find any dangling wire or connector. Would any expert please let me know what this socket is meant for?

I recently replaced the brake pedal position switch and noticed the switch and the mysterious unused green socket shared the same Dashboard Wire Harness B (Left branch). From the harness diagram and Connector to Harness Index table, I believe the green socket is the "Multiplex Control Inspection Connector" that is for troubleshooting and testing the MCS (Multiplex Control System).
