Hey guys. I just found out i'm going to be a father so I traded in myTL and bought an MDX. I basically went to the dealership straight from the doctors visit with my wife. All I had to do was see the first pic of the baby (looks like a tiny little lima bean, lol), and I knew I wanted to get something with AWD and being a Honda/Acura fan the MDX was my natural choice. Although I will confess, i looked at the Inifity G 35 cause it's all wheel drive but that was even smaller then my TL so i ruled it out. Anyway, the MDX is real nice and my wife likes it. I'll say we will miss our TL (26mpg) but I wanted something that would be good for the snow plus roomier.

We got the Aspen While Pearl with Parchment Interior, Tech Package, Power Lift Gate and I added the sport running boards and a remote starter. I got the car for 37,995 and the accessories were like $1400. I will say, the dealer took me on the accessories. They told me the price of the running boards was like $1095 installed (i got them for $900), but i just found them online (genuine acura accessory) for $450 and i'm sure the installation was not going to cost $500-600. Anyway, with 2.9% financing i'm happy overall. You guys probably know what it looks like but if anyone wants to see pics let me know and i'll post.

BTW, i think it was 55 up top that said he wanted the running boards, they are nice. Buy them on line, not from the stealership. check out http://www.handa-accessories.com/mdx07.html for good deals. I'll be getting the all season floor mats from there for $103, the dealer was trying to take me for $150 on that. Well, glad to join you guys.

Yea i want to get the running boards and rear spoiler. Fortunately for me i have a very good friend at a body shop over here that will source the parts out for me and get me them real cheap. For instance if an MDX comes in hit on the left side that had running boards, he will order the full set and give me the extra. I got the moldings put on for $100. I'm waiting for him to get the brushed stainless steal ones in. I'll check that site out though. Thanks and welcome to the board.

Those are the MRR HR2's in polished. I believe they only come in 19" and 20". I plan on getting these wheels soon to drop on the X. Is it me or does the wheel gap look even bigger with these wheels? If these are 19" I'm definately going with the 20". Nice car

You're right Nuck. They're 19" MRR HR2's with 255/55/19 Pirelli Scorpion Zeros. The wheel gap ironically is smaller with these tires as they're 30.043 inches overall and the stock 235/65/17s tires are 29.028 inches.

When these Scorpion Zeros wear out, I'll drop down to 245/55/19 because these tires are closer to the stock ratio (29.61 inches overall) and are about $40-$50 cheaper per tire. 255/55/19 are stock tires for Range Rovers, so the price starts around $200 per tire.

Overall though, I couldn't be happier with the MRR HR2s...we get a ton of compliments and it completely changes the look and feel of the vehicle. Road imperfections are noticed more, but handling is improved and it sets our MDX apart from the many black MDXs in Orange County

They had it "certified" by one of their other dealerships and then had it sent to the Acura I bought my TSX from to sell. Apparently the other dealership sucks ass. There was a chip/crack in the widshield, wheel locks w/ no key, broken a/c vent, one of the front tires was worn (the other was new), bad vibration when braking (warped rotor?), Nav disk was missing, and some other minor things.

The Nav disk we knew about and they told us they'd get a new one no problem. The other things we didn't notice till the next day. My dad took it back and spoke to the service manager. They went for a ride and as soon as he felt the vibration when braking he said "holy shit", got on the cell with the other dealer and started ripping into them. Told my dad to make a list of everythign that was wrong and they'd take care of it all no problem. He's supposed to be getting it back today so I'll let you know how it goes. For the mean time he's got an 07 loaner and he hates it lol. Too many buttons for him Good thing I talked him into the 06 huh lol
Just to update:
Props to Open Road Acura in Wayne, NJ. They made good on everything. New windshield, new brakes all around, 2 new tires, Fixed everything else no questions asked. Only problem still is the nav disk they gave us was scratched and isn't working. The nav locks up at certain points, reboots sometimes and actually showed the reverse camera while driving once. Tried it out for a few minutes with the disk from my TSX and it seemed fine. Brand new disk on the dealer is on order.

Oh and the other dealer that missed all this stuff when they "certified" it? Open Road in East Brunswick, I would avoid them like the plague.

They look crazy, but fit the look of the new MDX pretty well. They almost look like concept wheels.

the more interesting is that the ride with the 18" or 20" is almost the same confortable, the MDX is not suffering at all the 45" profile tires vs the original 55"... The Toyo S/T are great tires, the BEST for SUV.

I suggest to you jumping to the "www.oxigin.de" site... a lot of good wheels, but at the moment only for Europe, not for USA.

I'll jump over and post up my new '08 MDX with Tech Package and Power Tail Gate in Dark Cherry Pearl with Ebony interior. Added options include the backup sensors, roof rails and crossbars, body side moldings and chrome side steps.

Picked it up and May and have put about 5000 miles on it so far. Averaging 19 MPG around town and 24-25 MPG on long trips. Can't complain about that.

Here's some pics:

When I sold cars, my little cuz totaled my Aunts Highlander 2 weeks after she got her DL; I had a nice 1 owner 03 MDX on the lot that she picked up, a year later I got my mom a 04 white MDX with RES. I love these SUV's! I may get one myself soon.

Help!!

I'm trying to start my own thread, but having trouble locating the new thread button. Hope no one hates me, but I'm gonna ask my question while I'm here. I'm trying to figure out how to gain access to my fresh air intake in my 2006 acura mdx. If anyone can help me with either issue. Thanks.

New MDX guy too!

Just wanted to step in and and introduce myself (from So. CO) to the "new MDX guy list" too. We just purchased an '08 Silver Billet Metallic with Tech package from Pikes Peak Acura, a lease return. It has 12,500 miles on it and looks and drives new. We love it. Also has the roof rack and protective door moulding. Want to add the sport running boards soon, that should really complete the looks (for us anyway).

Gotta say, the original tires appear to only have about another 6K miles left, pretty disappointing. Will definitely be reading the tire rack feedback, and owners comments on other brands here.

We also have an Integra LS 5-spd that's my gas saver and sporty ride.

Also wanted to mention, the dealer gave me an '06 MDX to drive for the day while they installed the clear bra and the clear door edge strips. I was really impressed with the light handling feel and snappy acceleration from a stop that that MDX had. The '08 seems more linear in acceleration and braking, and maybe that takes away some of the sporty feel. But, I still wouldn't trade. The '08 has great power and when I pass someone at speed (which takes place very quickly!), it growls like an angry V8!

Bill

Go back out to the main "Acura MDX Discussion" section and in the top left there is a "New Thread" button. Then you're off!

If you mean your pollen filter by "fresh air intake", then I'd search that same forum for pollen filter (I have an 06 and found plenty on it). Or start a new thread and I'll answer there. If you mean engine air intake (as in I want to install a cold air intake), search for CAI.
