06 MDX 35K original tires good tread. passenger front for last several mos loses about 5lbs per month. 3 mos ago brought to tire shop and they removed wheel and submerged it and did not see a leak. They took tire off rim and a lot of rust. Cleaned it real well and put sealer around bead area and reinstalled tire. Still same slow leak. Mentioned it to Acura dealer and his two suggestions would be first to replace stem and the pressure sensor. If that did not solve it then replace the whole rim as it can get "tiny holes". Both those recs expensive. Any other suggestions or anyone else had same problem?

you have 7 yr old tires on your car? regardless of tread life how are the sidewalls? Michelins are notorious for weather checking (cracked sidewalls), assuming OEM were Michelins.

are you checking the pressure with a tire gauge or relying on the TPMS?

My originals are Goodyears; sidewalls look good but I agree, they still could have cracks. I use a high grade guage to check air.

I would transpose your priorities:
Use high grade tires with a low grade gauge.
