Second key not saving settings

Hi, I have a problem with my 2007 Acura MDX's car computer. It has two keys - I use key 1 and my wife uses key 2. When key 1 is in use, everything works fine. However with key 2, it doesn't remember many of the personal settings.

For example, if I start the car with key 2, then go to the setup screen and turn off the voice prompt audio to off, turn the car off and back on, the setting will have reverted to the default on.

For some reason, it DOES remember saved radio stations, but that's about it. It forgets anything to do with voice, mirrors, lights, seats, etc. And key 1 works exactly as expected.

Any idea what might be going on? I tried to resync the key by holding down both buttons as described in the owners manual, but that had no effect.

I recently upgraded to v4.63 of the navigation software. It did not fix the problem (i.e. it happened both before and after the upgrade)

Is there any way just to have both keys use the same settings? It's really only the seat position that's important, and I can use the seat memory buttons on the left door for that.

Thanks,
Matt

The memo buttons only work for the seat and wheel position.

I'm talking about the main computer settings. The biggest concern is the navigation voice volume. I usually turn it off and just use the screen, but whenever we use key #2 it is back on again.

Any other ideas?

is the key linked up to the car? Lock the car. Then unlock and open the driver door, insert the key into the ignition. Does it just say welcome? Welcome driver x? If just welcome you need to link the key.

What ever happened here? I was thinking exactly the same thing just by reading the title of the thread. The fact that it isn't remembering "many" of the settings makes me think that the transmitter needs to be linked / relinked.

If you press the lock and unlock buttons at the same time, it will (un)link the transmitter. If memory serves, there are details in the owner's manual about this process.
