Hi all,

Last week i brought the MDX 2012 Tech Package Polished Metal with Ebony interiors. I love the car, its runs like a dream. Happy to have it.
Have added a couple of accessories to it like the Advanced Running Board, Trunk Applique film, WeatherTech all weather mats digitech and Tri-fold cargo mats.

I really wanted the remote start function in the new car, as i live in chicago, and its brutally cold during winter, and same applies for the heat in summer.
However i was not interested to get the Acura OEM remote starter. I would like to add the Viper Remote start. I understand Acura people will warn you about voiding the electronics warranty and all that, but i also read around that, normally they do that only if the aftermarket kit has messed up the ignition of the car, hence they dont void the warranty.

Do people in here, add aftermarket remote starts to their brand new MDX's, inspite the threat from the dealers??
Can i take this risk, and get the kit installed from a professional installer who has been installing these kits since a long time.

If so, what are your experiences with the Viper SmartStart?
I would like to add Viper 5704 Remote Start kit with VSM200 smartstart kit.
For the bypass module.. i've learnt about XpressKit PKALL or DA-BALL, which is better?? The installer mentiones about some audiovox flashlogic kit, not sure if thats better for mdx.

Please guide.

My main concern was about peoples experiences with Viper Smart Start on their MDX's, and what kit they use?

 

I just bought a 2012 MDX Tech this week in Chicago too =P. I am also looking to get a remote starter installed. The dealer wanted $750 for the factory one and I heard it sucks. Let me know which installer you end up getting and the cost. I am also getting clearbra installed soon.
