i am looking to get some sort of a write up or DIY on replacing the leather seat cover for the base of the driver seat of my 07 MDX.

the dealer gave me a quote of 340 for 2 hours of labor to get this done but i would like to try and do this myself.

i searched the forum but couldnt find anything, can anyone help?

did anyone have to do this before? maybe offer some pointers?

 

When leather wore and split on '91 Legend I had good Sheepskin installed on front seats for about $150 {97 money}.

Unless you got a recent model MDX with the upgraded Milano in Tech or Advance pakages - they use low grade spilt hide leather plastic coated {like in TL etc}.
Thats prob what they will replace with in '07.

 

go to an auto upholsterer they will put in better quality materials for cheaper then what the dealer will do labor only for most likely

 

i already bought the cover from acura for $240, my brother-in-law who is a mechanic will try to remove the old one and put the new one one

i will probably need to get the passenger side done soon so i will definitely look into a upholstery shop.

Driver Leather seat on '08 Type S ......looked like somebody threw battery acid on it after 5000 miles ...... WTF !!!

 

What happened to the original seat covers? Wear and tear? Pics?
