Removing Carpeted Dash

So my wife's MDX came from Arizona, the previous owners put a dashmat carpeted thing over the dash to protect it from getting any sun damage in the Arizona sun.

It is being held on with velcro that has been stick to the dash with some sort of adhesive.

Any of you had any experience removing something like this? I was going to try some Goo-Gone but I am afraid I might damage the dash.

Try some Windex or glass cleaner. Then after it is off coat the dash in some armor all protectant or aerospace 303

Try WD-40.
