Remote Starter

Does anyone have an after market remote starter on the MDX?

Please give me the brand name if you're happy with the product.

Thanks

I have the Viper Responder One, model 4203V. I am very happy with this remote start. Range is good, came with two small remotes that are not bulky and it provides notification whether or not the car started, via LED and sound.

How's yours set up, do you still carry your oem fob, did you have to give up a key, etc?

I still carry my oem key fob for opening/locking doors. The vendor installed an interface module which did not require to give up a key. I also got the option to unlock the vehicle while running using the Viper remote, for additional $40, since the oem key fob will not work once you remote started the vehicle.

Hey guys,

I've got the Viper 5901 installed myself, using a bypass module called 'idatalink' that will do (through data) your power door locks, doors, hood, trunk trigger, power lift gate and of course the immobilizer bypass without losing a key. I've also installed the smartstart control box so i don't have to cary any extra fobs on me. and the best part about the smartstart is that it will message you anywhere in the world if your vehicle had been tampered with!

If you have any questions on a DIY just give me a shout, i use to be one of Best Buys car audio trainer and MECP advanced certified.

Forget the factory remote start, it's a bulky remote as you still have to carry your factory set, it's only got about a 100' of range ands it's damn expensive.
You can purchase an aftermarket one at a fraction of the cost, with a smaller remote and longer range.
