Potential purchase of an 04 MDX

After some massive flooding that occurred a couple weeks ago and my fiance totaling out her sentra, we're looking for another vehicle. I've always been a fan of the MDX. When I used to be a buyer for a dealer, I got my mom and my aunt MDX's and they've been great vehicles (mom has a 04, aunt has an 03, both white/saddle).

I found a (once again) white/saddle 04 MDX with nav. It only has 47K miles on it and is in good condition. The current owner bought it from a neighbor in 2007 and it was used by a stay-at-home mom since then. I got him down to $17K and he won't budge any lower. You guys think it's a good price? I'm not used to purchasing cars without going to auction and getting good prices but this price seems decent. The miles are so low that it makes this one a tough find.

Not a bad deal, especially if it has all the good options.

Which model is it? If it's the touring with navigation and RES then it's a prettygood deal. I just bought an 04 sage brush metallic touring with navigation for $15,000 with 88,000 miles. This was one of the cheaper ones I can find with the same package. Good luck.

I didn't buy it, but my friends did. It's an 04 touring with Nav, no RES.

$16,400 with 47K on it. I think they got a good deal.

Sounds like a great deal to me. Here in California it would have been closer to $18000-20000 for a similar mdx with that low of mileage.

sounds like a great deal, but don't the 04 mdx's have the terrible transmission issue?

it's more typical for the 01-02 to have tranny issues, but 03-06 still has a few issues.

They got a very good price on the truck. It still has the original tires so those need to be replaced, otherwise it's in great shape. They're very happy with it
