Possible Transmission Issue in 2010 MDX
I'm posting this for a co-worker. He knows I have a TL and am active on a few Acura sites, so he asked me about it.
Anyway, for the backstory, he has a 2010 MDX SH-AWD with right at 100k miles on it. He had transmission issues around 20k miles that were covered under warranty and it's been fine since.
Well, just the other day he said it wouldn't shift back to first. When shifting to any of the other gears it would shift and the whole car would start shaking. After he cut the car off and restarted it he said it shifted fine and acted normal again. My first thought was the famous torque converter issue when he mentioned the shaking, but I found it odd that it would work fine after turning the car off and then back on. It almost sounds like it could be an electronic issue. The car didn't throw any codes, so that's no help.
I figure you guys know a lot more about these things than I do. Any ideas on what it could be?
