K&N is garbage. First it doesn't filter as well as the OEM filter. It lets more contaminents into the engine (that's how they flow more air). Secondly it's an oiled filter. Overtime the oil will collect on the MAF sensor, and cause the readings to be off, and in some cases ruin it (usually because people over oil it). IMO the 3-5 extra HP is not worth the increased wear on the engine.

Plus, and this is purely my experience, I actually got worse gas mileage with the K&N air filter.

And besides that, any other performance mods out there that you have seen/experience/recommend?

There is a J-pipe in development by Rv6-performance. It has been discussed on the other MDX forum. It should be available early summer.

Also I believe we can use the unorthodox lightweight pulley from the 3g TL.

^its an exhaust piece. it replaces the factory jpipe.
the factory jpipe is pretty restrictive, the one being offered by RV6 has a better merge and is less restrictive

idunno, the above poster said it was "in-development"
maybe you should direct your questions to RICHIE himself.
maybe he does have the jpipe out.
maybe he doesnt. i dont know.

http://rv6-performance.com/mdx.html

if it is available, he jig tests them. so fitment is always spot on.
I have the rv6 jpipe for my TL. fitment is spot on.

I've emailed RV6 about the J-pipe, it is being offered for the 2010 and up but not for any years below that which is lame. They are still in the works.
