New MDX Advance Owner
Just picked up a 10' Advanced with low miles. We were contemplating leasing a 14', but decided that we need to own something. We currently have a 12' TL and 12' RDX and needed something with more room. After driving the MDX home yesterday I was completely amazed at how quiet this thing is on the highway. I was also confused/amazed/delighted at how, with the suspension in sport mode, it pretty much stays flat in turns. AWESOME buy!!!!

Congrats and sounds like a nice pickup. Do you need both and RDX and an MDX seeing you have a TL as well?

I am constantly debating the same option of going for a used 11-12 MDX advance+entertainment or brand new 14 MDX tech (debating entertainment).
I like all the new features with the 14 MDX tech; but, I know they will make improvements, address TSB, and have the usual exterior/interior upgrades with the 2015 & MMC. Other than the mpgs, the 11-12 MDX advance+entertainment would fill the gap nicely until the +2016 MDX is ready to go (thinking the +2016 will have more power, hybrid option, upgrade tech, more standard features, maybe 7AT, etc...). I figure the money I save on the 11-12 MDX will make up for the poor mpgs compared to the 2014 model.
I'm really leaning hard taking the same route and go for a used MDX for $10,000 to $15,000 less compared to new.

Congrats on the buy. I also am in the market for a 2010 or 2011 MDX. I rarely find any advance ones though. If you don't mind me asking what did it cost you ?
I have a 2007 RDX which IMO handles fantastic. How does the MDX compare to that ?

They love my TL, due to its color lol but they are satisfied with their Accord as a family sedan or else they would have all three cars. I really wish I didn't get rid of my Integra!!
It was in near flawless condition, paint, interior, motor, tranny was in great condition. I plan to start building a collection of Acura/Honda cars since I love them so much, but financially I can't do that just yet. (Senior yr. in College)

Shoot me a PM, I cam across 5 in the area between MA, NY, PA and NJ. My wife was following me in her RDX and was wondering how I was able to take turns faster than her, and the car still looked composed! Between the two, you can def tell the MDX is heavier, but not in a negative sense....it feels more substantial and stable. The RDX is more fun and maybe edgy is the word, the MDX is more composed.

We are debating which vehicle to unload...the RDX has more trunk space, but FWD. FWD+Winter+Turbo = White knuckle, hair raising commutes. The TL is AWD, but if I put in a stroller, the trunk is full!

As I mentioned above, it seems like the more common combination is the MDX and the TL - my garage included (until recently). Not sure how long you plan on keeping your choice, but you need to weigh how often you are going to have a stroller in the TL vs. the MDX. Any way you look at it, it's a pretty good problem to have.
