Cool MDX rear panels and carpet

I am looking to start upgrading my sound system. For that I will put down some second skin pro and see if I cover the whole sides and the bottom floor. However I am unable to take out the paneling from where the sub-woofer is because I might break it off.

Does anyone out there have the instructions on how to do this safely?

I replaced the sub in mx x and to do so you need to remove the grocery hooks and cargo tie downs on the wall then the whole side piece will pop out just do a little pulling nothing will break.

Once you fold down the hooks you need a small flat screwdriver to pop down the covers that hide the screws.

Which speakers do you plan to use in the doors? The driver's front is starting to go in my wife's car and I want to fix them.

I am not sure yest I just want to start with Second Skin Pro and then focus on the speakers and such. Do you have any recommendations?

This may not be an option you would prefer, but still wanted to pass along in case maybe it is a road you wouldn't mind taking and didn't think to consider.

My ocd finally got the best of me and I removed the ENTIRE interior for a much needed "deep clean" from a pervious owner being heavy smoker (and it helps I am allergic to cigarettes). While I had everyting out, I replaced the OEM speaker with fresh new ones from Acura (DCHHonda online for about $35 ea.). Alpine is the OEM mfg for speakers, and I've always been a big fan of Alpine, not to mention IMO liked the factory bose sound...just needs tweaked for more midrange as most Bose always does.

I also sound deadened the entire floor, outer sheet metal panels, braketry, and doors; while also making "helper pillows" with polyfill for all the interior voids and also reinforcing/ sealed the speaker mounts for extra support to reduce vibration/ distortion. When I did things like the doors and rear panels, I payed specific attn to areas with moving parts or wiring areas that may become warm, and compensated properly.

I additionally lightly filled the sub-box with poly fill to add a little more low range to it. All this proved worth, as the road noise is much less, the sound from the speakers is much more crisp, and the sub is much more apparent. Now I will say the system could maybe use another 10-15 watts for when the windows are down. By no means though is it "boomy" or at the same time "underpowered" as it once was. At a fraction of the cost of a system upgrade (and much less headache if you are a do-it-yourself-er like me), it was worth it for this little yet big improvement. Additional benefits is the increased thermal resistance of the MDX, she now achieves and maintains a consistant temperature much easier.

The whole process, I only used (2) "door kits" of 60mil sound deadener and spent about $65 and ~ 40lbs added to rolling weight. I had the poly fill laying around in a conforter I wasn't using (pillows work too, or fabric stores sell it for SUPER cheap).
