The navigation system in my 2008 MDX is rebooting every few minutes when I'm driving. I went into the Diagnostic menu and selected unit check. In unit check it had a DVD test. The DVD test doesn't do anything and it says ERROR. Is this the DVD in the navigation system, or the DVD in the console?

 

If anyone has a 2008 or so MDX, and would be willing to enter the Nav diagnostic mode - and in unit check report back whether the DVD shows error or something else - that would be very helpful.

Very common to have problems with the older nav units. Some reboot, some don't load at all, some don't show a display, some have a check disc error, etc, etc. It needs to be sent out to Alpine for repair. I don't remember the cost off the top of my head.
