MDX a/c problem

MDX a/c problem
My 2008 MDX a/c is not working. The compressor will not turn on and the engine fan keeps running even after the car is turned off. The only way to turn off the fan is to disconnect the battery. Any connection between the two? Any suggestions? Thanks.
