My key lost communication with my car. The battery is good. What does a dealer charge to fix this, alon with purchase of a second key???
Or should I go independent- anyone know anyone in Florida???

 

you can go independent and probably get it much cheaper.

Is the remote portion not working or is it not starting the car.

If its' the remote, I'll post the instructions on how to relink it.

if it's the key itself, you'll need to replace it. Do you have a working key? If not, it's more of a headache and a bit more money spent.

Acura will charge around $130 to program each key to your car (both remote and immoblizer). A private shop near me in FL offered to do both for $65 including cutting if I provide the key. Bought one from ebay and I've been happy.

 

I can't tell from the OP if key/immobilizer isn't working and/or the key fob to open/lock door isn't working? I had to replace my key fob because the buttons were taking 2-4 presses to work (started the MDX engine fine). I was still under the basic warranty and it cost me zero $$. It kinda sounds like the fob might have died and needs to be replaced?

If it is just the fob, I would call to find out the cost of doing one or both fobs at Acura and around town. Might be time to replace both if you are planning to keep the MDX longer. eBay would have some reasonable prices on MDX fobs.
