I'm having some problems all of a sudden with my key FOB's. After reading all of the forums, I am kind of lost on what to do. Both keys stopped working all of a sudden. I have replaced both batteries, tried to reprogram both keys, and it is still not working. The security beep doesn't work either. I have also checked the battery and it is good. I have been reading that it could be the actuators or the multiplex unit. Not sure where to start to get the problem fixed, any suggestions would be great.

 

I forgot to add that when I press the key it makes a clunky sound but doesn't lock or unlock anything.

 

I'd go to the dealer. If you can't get the SUV started, get it towed, assuming you have a warranty. BTW do you have the 3G MDX (2014) or a 2G MDX (07-2013)?

just piggy-backing off this thread. I'm starting to have issues with my Driver 1 key. Normally I can be at least 3-5 feet away to lock/unlock my vehicle. Now I have to be right up on it. And when I suppress the button to lock a few times it would beep. Now unless I'm right up on it unless I'm right next to it.

Tried to get a hold of the local dealership here but have been unsuccessful.

I have a 2009 MDX

Any troubleshooting techniques to try?

could be the FOB battery.

could also be part of the memory seating/side mirror system as they are sync'd with the driver 1/2 FOB.

i had these issues with mine where the key FOB seemingly would not work similar to how you are describing your issue. it's not great for distance that's for sure.

you got me thinking about mine...my MDX key FOB seems to be working better now since i had the mirror actuators replaced since they were going bad.

do your side mirrors bind AT ALL when they tilt into reverse?
