Jacks

I'm looking to buy some jacks to do som DIY work on the M and wanted to get your opinions. Do you prefer/recommend floor or hydraulic? Any reliable brands i should consider or brands I should stray away from?

That's a nice jack 55, for years I've had a 2-ton 14" Pro-Lift for my cars, but it isn't tall or strong enough for our MDX ...so thus far, I've been forced to use the jack in the rear compartment...which is limited to say the least

So WiFi, I suggest a 20" 2.5-ton floor jack like 55 recommended...prices vary depending on lift height and tonnage, but it's worth it in the long run...I've had my floor jack for over 13 years and it's rock-solid...I also suggest jack stands for extra stability when the vehicle is lifted. Obviously you'll need at least a 2 1/4-ton jack because the 1G and 2G MDXs are roughly ~4500 pounds, but note that 2Gs are listed as 4551 pounds, so it's best to go with a 2 1/2-ton jack.

I know they're less expensive and more maneuverable, but I don't have any experience with hydraulic jacks...nor can I comment on maintenance and/or long-term durability.

I have a craftsman SUV floor jack that has worked well on all my cars for the past 3-4 years.
