Congrats! We too just purchased an 06 MDX last week and I already installed a HID kit today. My wife wants some side steps too, so was wondering if you have a place in mind already for purchasing them?

Congrats!!! Yes, this forum is not as active as the TL side, which I used to belong to when I had my '04. I am sure it will pick up once the '10s hit the showrooms.

Congrats. I just bought my MDX a couple weeks ago. Such a sweet ride!
1Louder, about how much do your side steps weigh? I was thinking about getting some but I don't want to add a bunch of weight.

I put on chrome aftermarket side steps (OEM style) on mine and it got some weight to it. I estimate it to be about a good 60 lbs or so. I was looking at the Acura OEM ones as well but it looks just like the aftermarket. Couldn't find myself spending twice as much just have the words MDX on the non slip pads.

I don't know exactly, but I'd agree with the 60lb estimate from above. They aren't any lighter than 40lbs for sure, so maybe 40-60 is a safe guess.

I put Nokya's on my TSX and love them. Where did you get? Also, any info on where you got the HIDs? I have an 06 as well - sounds like a good upgrade.

congrats to everyone who just got their hands on a X and becoming new owners.
unfortunatly, i'm not a X owner yet but will be in the next month or two. So i've been looking at the 06 X and would like to know what price i should shoot for when i hit the dealership. here's what's I'm looking for
Black on Black 2006 MDX Touring with NAV
VIN:188xxxx (i believe that it's 188)
mileage: around 40k give or take 5k.
it should be a CPO and i want to look for a wrap warranty?
so my question is what are the prices you guys are paying for, for a CPO X 2006.
should i even get the wrap warranty? how will that work out for me? is a CPO even good? If i get a CPO, when will my warranty end? if i get a wrap, then how much longer will it make my warranty last?
I really want to wait until the 2010 mdx comes out to but the 06 X since that will make the 06 depreciate more, but is that worth it? is it worth it to wait for the 2010 to come out, how much do you think the price will drop for the 06 if the 2010 comes out.
Do you guys thing $23,000 is a good offer for JUST A CPO 2006 X touring with nav EXCLUDING the wrap warranty.
this price is before taxes and all other fees, am I aiming too high or too low? when it the best time to buy a CPO car?
THANKS FOR ALL YOU HELP GUYS! I live in NYC so if you guys have any dealer recommendation, please refer.
THANKS AGAIN!

^^^In March of this year we bought a 2006 Black on Tan MDX Touring w/Nav with 58K miles for $23,000 even. I don't recall that it was CPO, but we bought it the same day it came into the lot. We did get an extended warranty, but mostly because I had one on the car we were trading in (we bought it there in 06) and I got a lot of it pro-rated onto the new car (the asking price was $2K, I paid about half that). But, I now have a car that has a warranty through 108K miles. I probably could have argued lower, but just a few hundred. So from my perspective, I think you're definitely in the ball park.
Having sold Acuras back in the dark ages (1990....), I think the best time to buy is the last day of the month. If the dealership is incentivized for monthly quotas, they are more willing to deal. That, and the end of the year (late December) is good for the same reason.

One more thought - The 06 took whatever hit they were going to take once the 07's came out with the new body style. There's nothing special about the release of the 2010's that's going to drive down the cost of an 06. The release of the 2010's will mean better deals on the 09's, but that's about it. Other things like local market, demand, what shape it's in, etc. will influence the price of an 06.

thanks 1louder and everyone for your input, on a side note... i noticed you have a list of things as part of your signature and was wondering if that's all for your mdx. if so can i see some pics of your mdx? it sounds like you have a pretty nice combo you ahve there and would be awesome if i can see pics of all the upgrades you put into the car, and the night shots and day shots of your headlights if possible...how's the look for the a-spec suspension going? what's so good about those susupension?
thanks!

thanks for the info. just one question, what kind of extended warranty did you get? was it through a Acura Dealer? how came it goes all the way to 108k? all the ones i look at are only up to 100k. what is covered under that warranty? is it bumper to bumper? like everything? what is the difference between your vehicle with extended warranty and a cpo. thanks!

You know, I didn't really investigate CPO so I'm not the best one to describe the differences. The warranty we got was actually the same one we had on the car we traded in. We had an 05 Pilot where we bought a 4 year / 50K mile extension. I believe it's bumper to bumper, just like the factory warranty. But when we traded it in, the Pilot had not run out of the factory warranty yet so we were able to pro-rate about half the cost and transfer the warranty to the MDX. Becaue the MDX had 58K miles, we're covered for an additional 4 years / 50K miles (that's why the 108K). This was all through a Honda dealer actually.
