Interior protection warrenty
Interior protection warrenty
Hey guys
Do you guys think it's worth it to buy the fabric protection warrenty that the dealer offers.. My interior is parchment.. I had a friend that has the same interior and she says that her jeans rub off on the leather and she starting to see the color of the interior change..
Being that the car will Have kids in it and what not. Is it worth it to buy (keep in mind that it cost about $800-1000) also covers from rips, tears, cigerett burns, etc etc.

The leather can be treated with some leather cleaner and conditioner ~$7 each
The carpets can be protected with scotchgard ~$10
Cleaned with carpet cleaner ~$5
Cigarette Burns? Easy, don't smoke in the car.
Rips and tears can be easily avoided.
All this stuff doesn't cost more than $30. That is a lot less than $800-1000.
So to answer your question, no I do not recommend spending the money on the interior warranty.

get a car with black interior?
but seriously. with kids...get weathertech floor mats. yes they are $$$, but well worth it since the mat is like a tray and catches everything. the seats themselves...leather conditioner or seat covers (at least for the kids) or plastic (like old school grandma ways). scotchgard for the rest of the interior.
weekly cleaning if the kids are in the car all the time.
i'm pretty sure my mdx didn't ever have an interior detail in the first two years of life. i certainly gave it a good once over the first weekend i had my car home. then after that, its monthly details since i'm the only one in the car most of the time. once you give it a good cleaning (in your case the car is new), you just make sure you do a weekly or bi-monthly wipe down and vaccuum to keep everything looking good.

She should have no problem cleaning it once a month since it was her choice .... right? Good luck!
Just because it may have a black interior, it doesn't mean that it is not dirty. It just does not show it as much. The best solution is to keep it as clean as possible all the time, I find it much easier not to get it dirty than to clean it after it is.
