Hail storm damage
Hey guys have a quick question:
If a car is labled as suffering "hail damaged" how extensive can the damage possibly be? (i.e., damage to the engine, mechanics).
It's been repaired and is certify by the dealership for 3yr 100k and still has a factory warranty. Car is located in the tennesse area.
Selling for very attractive price
Tks in advance

it was enough to get it labeled with hail damage. granted a lot will be cosmetic, but if the windshield was damaged that's a chunk of change unless they went cheap with replacement. the hail damage stigma will be with the car for the rest of its operating life...so unless you plan on keeping the car a while....i'd pass.
of course you wont' really know the conidition of the car unless you actually go and look at it and drive it.

From personal experience, my 08 MDX was about 11 months old when it was caught in a hailstorm the size of golfballs. It was parked in my driveway when it happened. The storm lasted maybe 10 minutes or so. Thats all it took to make the car look like a golf ball with all the dimples. The windshield was also cracked. The Insurance gave me about $8k worth in damages so I had my dealership fix the car up. They replaced almost every single panel on the car minus the roof which they did dentless repair on. They also repaired the windshield with OEM replacement. If you see the car today you would think its in near showroom condition at 3 years. Not a single door ding on it at 75k miles. The hail storm did not affect the car mechanically in any way shape or form. It was purely cosmetic and all of the problems were properly addressed by the dealer and the insurance company.
If you are getting a killer deal and you go and check the car out and it has no signs of cosmetic damage then I would say consider it as long as there is no mechanical issues with it. Good luck.
