Thumbs up Great Experience!

So I just bought my 05 MDX a few weeks ago (my first Acura and not bought from an Acura Dealer) and I noticed a slight transmission noise after about a week. I just brought it into my local dealer to have it looked at. Turns out it needs a new torque converter (60k miles). Anyway, the dealership treated me like a king while I waited. Free breakfast, free Starbucks coffee, soda, great waiting room. They were super nice, even offered to let me test drive the new Porsche Panamara while I waited. And to top it all off they even washed and detailed the out side of my MDX when they got done. They did all this knowing that the place I bought it from was going to have me bring it some where else to have the work done! This was my first encounter with Acura's Service dept. and needless to say I am SUPER impressed. Is this par for the course when it comes to Acura's Service Dept? Between how awesome the MDX is and how well I was treated I am definitley hooked on Acura! (Side note: Sadly I didn't have time to test drive the Panamara)

I'm confused. Does the Acura dealership you went to also sell Porsches? That's a new one for me. Sorry you didn't get to drive the Panamera. That is a super sweet car. As far as service goes at Acura dealerships, I think you will find the same level of treatment at all Acura dealerships, albeit with exceptions in the larger metro areas. Folks that can afford to drive Acuras expect a certain level of treatment. That said I have heard that most luxury dealerships have similar, and in many cases better perks. The car washing is pretty standard now in most car dealerships. I even had my white RL washed during an all day rain at my Acura dealership.

My Acura Dealership sells Acura, Porsche, Mercedes, and Lexus. Kind of an odd combo but I love going there and looking around. Sweet cars.

My bad. I did not think of Acuras being sold at an auto mall. I was thinking the Panamera was being sold "in" the Acura dealership. Silly me. I looked up Scholfield Auto Mall. I could spend days there looking and test driving cars. Lucky you.

Sheesh, this dealership needs higher standards...

Congrats on the purchase! Sounds like you found a winner to have your service done there too. We had our first experience with our 60K service on our 06 MDX, and it was a good one. We didn't get all that free stuff, but we were treated very well.

Sounds like my dealership, Acura of Columbus. Similar situation on my old TL, they replaced the worn leather shifter and provided a new battery, all under warranty. Treated my wife and her MDX the same way. Well now, due to their excellent customer service, I'll be paying them back. It's time for the 60k service for the MDX and it's going to cost $800. Money well spent for their efforts to win my business in my estimation. Sounds like your dealer is trying to prove their mettle.

Similar situation for me two weeks ago: took my TL in for a A1 service (covered) & came back to work to find some scratches in the front right bumper. Now I left their lot already & they could very well denied everything. But they didn't & took care of this for me at no extra charge, even gave me a 09 TL loaner to drive for a few days ....

When tough times like now linger around, it's the CS that will bring customers back ..

^^^That's pretty cool. Most dealerships would have said it wasn't there fault. I love Acura more every day.

I wish more dealers were like this. Not long ago, another AZ member had to pay $ to fix a small dent on the trunk on his loaner that they found when he brought it back to the Acura dealer.

The Acura service dept was what sold me on Acura cars for good. I swung into my service shop and asked about fixing the Bose Stereo CD player in my loaded 2004 MDX Tour. That is I drove in in 2009! The service rep said the car was 7 months out of warranty. He thought since there was little or nothing charged against the warranty he would petition Acura to take care of the system under the old plan anyway! While they were at it they replaced an amp or speaker in the side door in back of me also I did not know was wrecked. The car sounded way better after that. Four months later I traded my 2004 in for the newer 2009 I have now.
