Faulty Brake Light Switch Causing it to Shift into Neutral While Stopped

I had the Check Trailer Stability Assist come on sporadically in my 2008 MDX so I recently replaced the brake light switch since it was a known issue. However, after replacing the brake light switch, two different times I was stopped at a stoplight and the car will shifted out of gear. If I shift it to neutral and then back to drive, it's fine. After some googling, it seems like a faulty brake light switch is an issue with GM cars shifting out of gear at a stop, but I'm wondering if it could be the culprit for my MDX too. It seems a little too perfect that it started so soon after I replaced the switch.

Does this seem like the possible issue? Or is that just a GM thing? I serviced the transmission not too long ago, the ATF smells and looks fine, it seems to be shifting between gears fine too. It's just doing this weird thing when I'm stopped with my foot on the brake. This is the article talking about GM: https://gearsmagazine.com/magazine/f...while-stopped/

No, It has nothing to do with it.. I would look at the Transmission Range Switch instead:
