engine/motor mount replacement ?s 2002 MDX

The dealer said the front motor mount is broken and the passenger side mount is cracked my wife's 02 MDX with 74,000 miles. They want over $500.00 with tax to replace them. I cannot detect any excessive movement in either of them. Ane the front one is not leaking. I read another thread that says this is not uncommon. I asked the service manager about this. He said his opinion is they are not designed as strong as they should have been. He say his 01 with 150K has has them replaced twice.

I have found them both for just over $130.00 so I am going to replace them. It looks straight forward if you can get the front one to come out the top by the radiator hose as there appears to be no room to get it out the bottom.

Is there anything to watch out for. Can you take them both loose, raise the motor enough to clear the center stud on the front mount and replace the mounts?

whats the warranty on the mounts youve found? sometimes its best to have an acura dealer service "advance parts" like mounts. usually all parts and labor carry a one year warranty and i dont recall the mileage. you seem like you have a pretty good idea on the diy part. just remember raising the engine to clear the front mount stud, could result in transmission mount damage aswell.

The parts I have foung are genuine Acura. I could find an aftermarket side mount but not the front mount.
