If your MDX has these lights on at the same time, I would like to save everyone some cash. Just have the EGR, Throttlebody and part of the engine that deals with the gas and air circulation cleaned out. This job just cost me 800 cash. For a simply task i could have done myself. Hope this helps people in need.

 

Was the VTM light on constantly? CEL also? I had this issue but now can't get the codes since the lights won't come back on.

Also, I'm noticing a misfire...I'm hoping the EGR would be the fix, cheapest option. What kind of symptoms were you feeling.

$800 at the Acura dealer?

Are you Guys only running High Test Fuel. I ask to see if I am wasting money and being fooled about the cleaner fuel story about High Test not gumming up the fuel system as regular does...

 

We only use premium (93) in all our Acuras.

Yes, they can run fine on regular but I don't see the savings justifiable especially seeing that you'll typically see a decline in power and fuel economy by using the lower grade fuel (87).

 

yes the vtm light and engine light were on at the same time for about 2 months. i would have to look at my receipt from acura to get the codes
