We just purchased a 2012 MDX with the Tech and Ent packages with 35,000 miles. A few days ago, I opened it with the fob and started the car. I noticed the gas gauge did not work, and the low fuel light came on. Went to the store, and locked the car with the fob. Came back a few minutes later and everything was just fine. A few days later the same thing happened, expect this time none of the gauges worked, but like before, shut the car off, and locked with the fob...after a few minutes, started back up and all was good. Again,this happened same results expect the display gauge on the instrument cluster was in french. Today when we started it again the gauges didn't work, but this time while driving everything cam back on. It has a warranty, but I would hate to take it to the dealer for something simple...The Acura dealership is about 2 hours away. I am thinking the battery is low, but that is only a guess..the battery was replaced in October..anyway, other suggestions?

 

Sounds like you may need a software upgrade ?

 

sounds like a bad drivers door harness. This has started becoming an issue on more and more mdx's as of recent.

OR

at some point the windshield could have been replaced and now water is seeping into some electronics and has damaged them.
