Electrical issues after alternator replacement
Electrical issues after alternator replacement
Hello,
I recently had my alternator go bad and the battery completely drained. My wife was driving the vehicle at the time and I noticed the driver side window was rolled down. I hooked up a charger to the battery for two days as I waited for the mechanic to replace my alternator. Now that the alternator has been replaced I noticed I still have no power going to any door. None of the switches are working. It seems I have no power to any of my doors. I can't even control the power side mirrors.
Any idea what could cause all of this to stop working. I tried checking all the fuses. Tried the reset on the driver side power switches. I also unplugged the battery cables and used a jump cable to both wires for 10 minutes then plug them back in.
The car runs fine with no issues but I can't roll my window up and can't use the button to open my gas door.
Thanks!

Good morning!
I've had electrical issues after having a refurbished alternator installed, so I'd recommend you verify that you received a new, OEM (Denso) alternator.
Next, verify fuses are good. A fuse may have blown causing issues for the power windows.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't get the notification that you replied. I have however experienced more issues. The alternator was not a sensor as you mentioned. But lately I noticed the electrical to the doors are hit or miss. I also noticed my dash light were blinking the other day when I was driving home at night. I have ordered a sensor replacement and had the same mechanic scheduled to come replace it again. But.. no I'm thinking I should have an electrical specialist check it out? I don't want to lay again to have it replaced, them have the same issues. Thanks!
