DRL replacement recommendation

So, the MDX has has a cracked driver side fog light lens and the passenger side DRL burned out a few weeks ago. I didn't think anything of it and said I'll get around to replacing it soon.

Well, car didn't start today after a weekend of driving. I assume the blown bulb is draining the battery? Currently, reconditioning the battery in the garage. Figured I might as well replace the fog light housing, so has anyone tried out the TYC set from rockauto?

Why would a blown bulb cause drain? I have a blown orange marker on the driver side for over an year now and no such drain experienced.

blown bulbs don't cause parasitic draws so that's not it.

Interesting... I'm trying to figure this out then. The only thing new is NAVTOOL. The HFL unit is known to cause parasitic drain and I still have the hooked up and it still works. I guess I need to do some investigating.

Last year I had similar drains and it was also resulting in car blaring alarm. Turned out to be a bad connector under the hood for the security. I disconnected it and the problem went away.

HFL can work but still cause a draw, if you want to properly diagnose what it drawing, you'll need to do a parasitic draw test detailed here:

Thanks for the vid! I just checked the battery again and the voltage dropped to 10.7V after being fully charged a couple days ago and sitting in the garage. I've been driving the TL to work.

Will conduct this parasitic draw test tomorrow. Hoping it's an easy catch and not the NAVTOOL system. It's been a headache and I literally just put the car back together.

Ok, quick update. Issue was the HFL unit lol. I should be good now.

Back to the original title of the thread, I'm going to order the TYC set and try them out. I'll keep folks posted here on my thoughts of them.
