Door Ding Protection

My office is in a small building that also has a pediatric dentist in it. Needless to say the soccer moms who can't park, kids who don't care and other people who don't care about other people's property are here in force. My last vehicle looked like it had been through hell, but I didn't care about it so much, but now I have an MDX and I do.

So...what are you guys doing to keep the body panels straight? I found some rubber guards on Amazon, but is there anything else? Oh, before you mention it: "park somewhere else" isn't an option.

Park between coworkers or the dentists. Maybe they're enthusiasts who will watch the swing of their door. (Side note, what are they doing with their fancy cars to avoid dings?)


Or catch the bus.


Or get a beater car.


Or cringe every time a soccer mom SUV/CUV pulls up.

Right now I'm at the cringe phase. I try to get here as early as possible to beat the one or two other dentists with nice cars who snag the spots away from the rest of the herd. If the commute were easier I would zip in on my Tuono, but a cloggy highway is no fun on a sport bike.

Park at a 45 degree angle, while taking up 2 spaces.

That would pretty much guarantee me a good keying. Plus - looks dooshy.

Body side moldings, they work great and come pre-painted.

I think most of the dings are going to be higher than that molding sits, more near the horizontal body contour about 3" north of that trim line.

Looks a bit weird but can protect your doors from dings--
