For those of you that have car seats installed in the 2nd row... do you remove the headrests? The manual says to remove the headrests if you are installing in the 3rd row but doesn't say to for the 2nd row.
We raised the headrests up so they don't push the car seat forward but with them up so high I feel like it really affects visibility out the back window. Is there any reason I should leave the headrest on? (other than the fact that I risk losing/damaging it if its in the garage and not in the car)
Also, I read another post where some people use seat protectors under the car seat to protect the leather. Has anyone had a problem with the protectors getting stuck to the leather or having the dye bleed into the leather seat? Some of the reviews on Amazon for the popular protectors mentioned this so I've been avoiding getting one because we have the light gray interior. I'm wondering if a towel would be better.

I have two child seats in the backseat of our X. All I have is a pair of microfiber blankets under the seats to prevent scratches and scuffs. The seats are mounted pretty tight, so I have no issues with sliding aroud while the X is in motion.
The headrests are raised slightly to install the thether to the back of the seat and then lowered back down as far possible. I believe the headrest is just raised 1 notch. It's not enough to impede the rearview though.

Pretty similar situation. I don't have anything protecting my seats though, what I have is something protecting the back of the front seats from kicking toddlers. I have both of my headrests in, raised a bit, but not much. The visibility is the same, marginally good if you ask me.Originally Posted by SlimTL

For the baby car seats, what we did was remove the headrest and reinstall it the opposite way around so the top of the toddler seat does not press against the headrest. Little obstruction.Originally Posted by kimdx

Never had a situation where my seat protectors stuck to the leather but then we have the black leather interior in our MDX.
Cruisin'
We received a couple of seat protectors for our MDX and TSX. After we installed the car seat bases we went to the local fire department to have them inspected and they told us not to use the seat protectors because they weren't approved or tested. What they told us to use, and what we have beneath the bases now, is that mesh stuff you put in cabinets to keep plates from moving. Inexpensive and has a good grip. The bases are in there tight and don't move.

if you dont' want indentations from the child seats in the leather, use something to protect the seats.
the PO of my MDX was most likely a stay at home mom and had two kids in the back. how do i know??? the child seats left pretty decent sized indentations in the leather from the seat base. i have yet to venture to "fix" the divets. since i dont' see them on a daily basis it's not THAT annoying.
