Here is the deal.

The Navi on the MDX is so bad we have resorted to using the Waze app on the phone instead.

Here is the problem:

Using the same phone...... on the TSX, the turn by turn works perfect over the bluetooth. When Waze has something to say, it cuts off the radio, says what it needs to say, and then the radio comes back.

On the MDX, the Waze voice does NOT come over the car speakers. Ever. Only on the phone which is hard to hear sometimes, even with the radio off.

Yes, the phone is paired to both cars.

Any ideas ?

 

I could not agree with you more that the GPS directions sometimes are so incredibly stupid that simply I never use it. Waze and Google maps are my tools.
Check your Waze sound settings. It seems you have it set to go over the phone speakers as opposed to Bluetooth.

 

I will check but I don't think that is the case since I am using the same phone in both cars, and it works fine on the TSX, but not on the MDX.

 

Reviving this thread.........anyone have any idea why it would work on the TSX but not on the MDX.

 

Because they use two different bluetooth system. the 2011 TSX actually has bluetooth audio streaming where as the MDX only has the HFL for bluetooth calls.
