Any experience with p0848 trans pressure sensor?
Any experience with p0848 trans pressure sensor?
Recently took the mdx out for a small errand in -10F temperatures and car was shifting and downshifting into 2nd (or maybe 3rd?) roughly. Later that day it threw a p0848 code but was back to normal, smooth shifts.
Checked the trans fluid and it's a good color, doesn't smell burnt, and at the right level. Reset the code to see if it would come back and it hasn't for the last several days.
I couldn't find many people having this issue with the mdx but did see several posts and videos addressing that code via a replacement sensor on other v6 hondas and acuras.
I was curious if anyone else has experienced similar problems and/or have replaced any of these sensors.. or, for that matter, think that's the wrong move? Thanks for reading.

The fluid could have been frozen if its contaminated or very old giving a bad signal to the trans. The passages are very small and it only takes a little ice to cause blockages.
Trans fluid should be bright pinkish red when put on a white paper towel. Any browning indicates oxidation. What year MDX do you have? Some a have a ATF warmer/cooler that can mix coolant into the trans fluid and lead to way worse issues!

The fluid was a nice/bright pink color when wiped on a towel.
PS thanks for the reply. I'm not sure about the trans warmer/cooler. I can look into it.
