Amsoil ATF

has anyone tried the universal amsoil atf in the mdx? i have heard this company is known for their quality lubricants. their website indicates it's compatible. i like the idea of a synthetic alternative...

What year is your MDX?

Z1 will be fine, but based on your mileage, I'd suggest you drain and fill 3x to get all of the old fluid out.

2006 50k miles.
i replaced all of the other fluids - they actually looked almost new.

have not done the trans yet. i'm not sure if it was ever changed. it looks just a little faded in color.

I see. After 50k, I'd try to drain/fill it until you get all of the old fluid out.

i searched the mdx forum and didn't find anything on that. you indicated drain and fill three times? is it 3 qts each time? can i fill from the dipstick instead of pumping into a fill hole?

I hear the dipstick method is the way to go. I have yet to find a DIY on how to change the ATF.
